 une Suhm is a gardener, painter, and nature lover. She lives on a small farm in central Oklahoma and enjoys gardening virtually year-round thanks to the customized heating and cooling systems installed in the floor and walls of her greenhouse.
June graduated with a degree in Art from Southeast Missouri State University in 1964. She has developed a warm, expressive style as she has mastered her skills over the past four decades. June chooses the composition for each gourd on a case-by-case basis, paying careful attention to the inherent shape and natural character of the piece. June's themes and stories have been inspired by the people, cultures, and landscapes she has encountered in her many adventures across North and South America, Europe, and Australia.
When she's not in the garden or behind a brush, June also enjoys cooking, hiking, and spending time with her family.
